Roblox He Ate Them: Secrets, Badges and a Spoiler-Light Guide
Find the bedroom key, plan badge runs, and track down optional secrets without spoiling every scare. Includes update caveats and a parent guide.

Help viewers find what the videos skip
For the main story, follow the objective prompts; for badges, plan separate exploration and speed runs. The easily missed details include the bedroom key, optional DVDs, opposite choices involving Splink’s car, and the difference between a scripted ending and an intentional capture.
Verification note, October 25, 2026: This is a source-checked guide, not a hands-on playtest. Official badge descriptions establish requirements; published walkthroughs supply routes and reported object locations. Locations below should not be treated as independently play-verified.
Also, an 18-badge checklist is no longer a safe claim of completeness. Crano’s October 20 badge-video description lists additional secrets, while an October 19 walkthrough description separates Chapters 1 and 2, “Chapter ?,” and Survival Mode.
Read the numbered routes for light spoilers. Skip paragraphs marked Optional spoilers if you want discoveries to remain surprises.
Chapter 1: Room 67, hiding and the bedroom key
The documented route in the independent Chapter 1 guide follows this order:
- Start in the lobby. Meet Cruz, enter the elevator before its countdown ends, and follow the cookie trail to Room 67.
- Meet Steak. Follow the conversation, then use the bathroom when the hiding objective appears. Wait for the next instruction rather than wandering.
- Investigate the locked door. After the plea for help, return to the elevator to find Cruz, then follow him back.
- Collect the key. Once Steak takes Cruz, look on the bedroom nightstand while Steak is distracted. Return to the locked door.
- Follow RUN. Navigate the hallway obstacles toward the elevator. The completion notice confirms the chapter ending.
For your first attempt, prioritize learning that sequence. Keep a short note—lobby, bathroom, Cruz, key, elevator—rather than trying to remember every conversation.
The official Clocks Ticking requirement is a Chapter 1 finish in less than eight minutes. It does not explain exactly when timing begins. Don’t mistake the bathroom countdown for the full speedrun timer, or assume an edited eight-minute video demonstrates a qualifying run.
Chapter 2: The lower floors, house and power outage
TechWiser’s published walkthrough gives the following objective order. This version avoids explaining who the later threats really are.
- Find another exit. Leave the elevator area, descend the stairs, and take the Staff Only elevator.
- Reach the door downstairs. Follow the passage, interact with the door, and wait through the dark survival sequence. The walkthrough advises staying still until it opens.
- Leave with Splink. Travel to his parents’ house, explore, then ask him to show you the basement guest bedroom.
- Complete the nightmare sequence. Sleeping starts it. Your exploration choices matter for optional badges.
- Resume the house objectives. After waking, take the bedside flashlight, investigate upstairs, answer the front door and phone, then follow the office sequence.
- Restore power. When instructed, head upstairs to the fuse-box room. Return downstairs afterward and follow the final escape prompts.
If you lose your place, identify your current objective before retracing everything. For the power task, focus on reaching the fuse box, not searching every bedroom. Save optional exploration for a run where you are not trying to preserve the story’s pace.
Optional spoilers: Secret locations and badge planning
These object locations are reported in AllThingsHow’s chapter guide, rather than confirmed through our own play:
- Maid outfit: Behind the lobby sofa beneath Steak’s portrait.
- SteakFan12 DVD: Beneath the apartment’s living-room television during Chapter 2’s opening recap. The guide identifies that recap as the collection opportunity.
- Seal: On a sofa in a basement room at Splink’s parents’ house.
- Prank DVD: In the upstairs room beside the fuse-box room.
For I’m so excited, finding the SteakFan12 disc is not enough: the official requirement also says to play it. Treat pickup and playback as separate checklist items.
The following older story-badge goals are documented in GamesHorizon’s badge guide. This is a planning checklist, not the complete post-update badge catalog.
| Badge | Required action |
|---|---|
| Chapter 1 Completed | Finish Chapter 1. |
| Chapter 2 Completed | Finish Chapter 2. |
| Almost as big as Steak | Eat the hallway cookie trail. |
| UwU | Find the maid outfit. |
| Steak and chill | Turn on the television. |
| Mischievous, not really | Flush after Steak tells you not to. |
| Another Victim... | Get caught by Steak. |
| Victim of a Another. | Get caught by the other creature. |
| Aww so cute | Pet Sugar or Fendi. |
| Sealed | Boop the seal’s nose. |
| Get Pranked... | Find and play the Prank DVD. |
For Best Friend, the official requirement is 25 pet interactions with Sugar or Fendi. One interaction is not the full goal.
Plan different car choices: Thank you pal requires leaving Splink’s car alone; Dont Mess With Me requires interfering with it. Don’t expect one choice to satisfy both.
Be cautious with nightmare shortcuts. Officially, Lost concerns being too scared to explore, while Insane concerns witnessing a lot. Neither description publishes a room count or precise waiting time, so “stand here for exactly this long” needs additional testing.
Optional spoilers: Chapter ? and newer secrets
Don’t confuse the secret chapter with a numbered Chapter 3. The October walkthrough description linked above labels it Chapter ? and lists Survival Mode separately.
A dated summary of Steak CLIPS’ October 20 gameplay reports this secret-chapter sequence:
- Enter Story Mode Chapter 2 and progress through the house and nightmare events.
- Restore power; the recorded sequence then produces a steak-shaped key.
- Collect it, leave, and rejoin with the key retained.
- Use it at the steak-marked door in the nightmare hallway to enter the secret area.
Important limitation: That summary does not establish every prerequisite interaction or whether key persistence behaves identically for every player. Treat it as a reported route, not a guaranteed unlock recipe. If the key does not appear, don’t assume restoring power alone is sufficient.
For targeted follow-up, Crano’s newer badge-video description indexes Where are they? (Missing Persons) at 5:02, I found something at 7:59, and I found a place at 8:18. Those timestamps help locate explanations, but badge names and chapter markers alone do not verify their requirements.
Parent note: What the Moderate label means
The official Roblox listing identifies He Ate Them as horror and carries a Moderate maturity label. Its premise involves familiar creator-inspired characters, a threatening transformation, and the suggestion that people are being eaten—not simply a spooky obstacle course.
Roblox’s maturity explanation says Moderate experiences may include moderate fear or violence, light realistic blood, and other listed content categories. That describes what the rating permits; it does not mean every Moderate game includes every category.
Preview the experience before a younger child plays. Consider their comfort with pursuit, disturbing character imagery, and implied cannibalism, rather than relying on the Roblox name alone.
For a first session, keep volume comfortable, agree that stopping is always fine, and review account content settings together. Badge completion is optional: nobody needs to repeat a frightening capture scene just to finish a checklist.
